For Taco Bell... god I must be getting desperate.
Please give me some automotive-related job recommendations that would hire a 16 year old.

Go to a garage and say you will sweep the shop if they teach you. You don't need much money at 16, you need to fill your brain with more than just tits and ass.

you could try working as a detailer/porter at a dealership or maybe a parts store.
Or just call around to shops and see if they need someone to push a broom around.
Gotta start at the bottom like drake.

Call CaCoalMiner and ask if he wants someone to wash/attend his cars a few times a week?
Call Automatch and ask if he's looking for a receptionist?
Call Nibby and challenge him to mario kart? (not paying, but could help while the time away)
Call spiegel and ask...
...it's probably best not to call spiegel.

I don't know of any auto-related jobs that come with free tacos.

holy crap I cant believe how young people are on here.
my advice.
go to shop tell them you are young unexperienced but passionate and willing to learn and want a entry level position.

Try for porter positions. It may be hard to get one though because you're not 18 and thus harder to insure. The second option is go to a smaller establishment and be a shop boy. Dinner than they sound. Just make sure to make friends with the manager.

Others have said it, look to work in a dealership, cleaning cars, anything.
One of my old clients at Ford started in the service department.
He's now one of the "higher ups" on Global Ford Service.

have u tried service departments in dealership, sears or similar? I worked at McD's at 14 and D'angelo's until I was 16. Then I went to TruckGuys which was one of the best jobs I've had. http://www.truckguys.net/ I did installations until I had a rod in my back then I was transferred upstairs doing sales. Then I did both. Once I recovered I did both sides.

Call Spiegel, what could possibly go wrong?

Don't be shy, at least you're trying. I can't work at fast food places (smelling food for a while makes me throw up). I did work at a seasonal toy store though, and that got my foot in the door to other places in the company.

Oh dear. That honestly made me laugh out loud.

Around here, any of the car washes, maybe some dealer lots (wash/clean), maybe parts delivery at NAPA (though they may now have an 18+ policy), parts counter at Advance/AutoZone/whatev, some tire shops, some of the Grease Monkey/Jiffy Lube/Meineke type places, too. Good luck!

10/10 I lol'd.

Honestly I would try all mechanic shops you can see, a friend of mine had a job at one that would not fire anyone for ANYTHING, and would hire just about anyone, but get used to doing nothing but putting on tires, swapping batteries, and changing oil. The good thing though is that it counts for experience towards ASE certifications, if you want to go that route. I believe you need 2 years experience to start getting the A series certs if I remember correctly.

I don't know any taco-related jobs that come with free cars.
You know, because of the horrendous business model.

"you need to fill your brain with more than just tits and ass."
A truer statement has never been spoken about male teenagers.

There IS a Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep/Ram dealer up the street from me.

I've already tried parts delivery for Carquest, 18+ policy because their insurance won't cover me.

go play with a hellcat then

I'll have to go up there tomorrow and see if they need anyone.

Remember though, your 16 you need a job more than anything.
I was a lifeguard from age 15 (i think lol) all the way through college, and I've been in Automotive Advertising ever since I graduated college. You don't necessarily need to be a shop boy at a dealership to get into an automotive field in your future. Just dedication.

The automotive field is definitely in my future. Going to school part time next year to get ASE certified in automotive diagnostics and repair. It would just be nice to have my foot in the door before my certification.

ok if you're going the actual mechanic route then yes go pick up a broom
